Harry and Meghan Markle, the trip to Colombia
Harry and Meghan Markle will therefore not return to England any time soon but will be busy in another journeywhich almost seems like a state commitment, as already happened during the visit to Nigeria. This time too, the couple will travel to a foreign country, without the consent of the English royal crown. This is Colombia, which they will reach under the explicit invitation of Vice President Francia Márquez: “I am pleased to announce that Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have kindly accepted my invitation to visit our beautiful country. During their trip, the Duke and Duchess will join me to visit Bogota, as well as the Caribbean and Pacific regions of Cartagena and Cali.”
The Colombian government representative also explained the motivations of this visit: “In these dynamic places, they will have the unique opportunity to interact with leaders, young people and women who embody the aspirations and voices of Colombians committed to progress…. Their visit comes at a particularly important time, as it precedes the first Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence against Children, which will be held in Colombia this November.
