The young athlete has been hit by an avalanche of accusations, which have proven to be unfounded, concerning her sexual identity.
Imane Khelif: “Unjustified harassment against me”
Following the match with the Italian Angela Carini which has sparked much controversy around the world, Khelif decided to address the issue publicly. In an interview with Sntv channel, he expressed his disappointment with the situation he experienced, defining it as a form of bullying and personal attack. “The Italian boxer has known me well for years,” Khelif said, “I spent a lot of time training in Italy, alongside Carini and many other athletes. While it is possible to have an honest debate about equality in sporting competitions, it is unacceptable that athletes like Khelif become the target of hateful and prejudiced discourse.
